Singapore: Personal alert button for seniors. The extended power grid has the potential to use solar power to provide 90% of the electricity demand of the major villages of Pulau Ubin. These are some enhancements that residents can expect.

The National Parks Board (NParks) said on Saturday (June 25) on the annual Ubin Day that amenities help meet the needs of the community and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants.

Fire hydrants, hose reels and other firefighting facilities will be added to major villages, Kampongsung Gaidrian and Ubin Living Labs to enhance the island’s fire management response.

The infrastructure will be ready by 2023, said N Parks, the central governing body for Pulau Ubin.

“The purpose is to provide both first responders and firefighters in the community with an improved firefighting infrastructure, enabling a continuous and controllable water supply and better coverage of the building,” he added. I did.

Pulau Ubin’s power grid will be upgraded with the installation of a solar green roof connected to an advanced energy storage system.

Solar green roofs are expected to reduce the ambient temperature of PV modules from 3 degrees Celsius to 8 degrees Celsius, improving the efficiency of PV systems by 1.5% to 4%.

Energy storage systems will be deployed to improve the reliability of the island grid.

According to NParks and the Energy Market Authority (EMA), at the request of residents, the grid will be expanded to Kampongsung Gadrian to provide a sustainable power supply to more users on the island.

Authorities added that the improved microgrid could use solar power to meet 90% of the daily electricity demand of major villages.
