This year’s revised budget has reduced development aid budget cuts, while development aid to stabilize endangered countries has been reduced by 140 million Norwegian kroner.

Last year, the Solberg government budgeted 860 million Norwegian krone for “stabilization of countries in crisis and conflict.” Currently, the Labor Party, the Center Party, and the Socialist Left Party have agreed to reduce the revised national budget by 140 million Norwegian krone, the newspaper Vårt Land wrote.

Stabilization of development aid budgets includes everything from responding to immigrants and supporting political processes to ensuring food security and job creation in these countries.

Funds are sent to several different organizations in the countries in which Norway operates. In particular, Norway supports refugee management in Lebanon and countries affected by the Syrian crisis, primarily Syria, Jordan and Lebanon.
