A flight from Eindhoven to Budapest had to abort takeoff after a collision with a bird burst a tire on the plane.

An Airbus A320 operated by Wizz Air had to make an emergency stop on the runway on Sunday night after its brakes overheated. All 178 passengers had to disembark as fire and ambulance services were on standby. No one was injured.

Passenger Eric Van Buren said there was little panic on board when the plane suddenly stopped. he told Omrope Brabant.

“We had to check our bags on the plane.

An airport spokesman said one flight arriving from Valencia was diverted to Rotterdam, but other air traffic was unaffected.
