A series of concerts will begin tonight at Fairview Park in Dublin, with the Phoebe Bridgers first.
There will be nine gigs in the next two weeks, raising some concerns among the population.
Residents on the North Strand side of the park were angry because they claimed they had not been consulted about how close the stage was to their home.
A meeting with the Dublin City Council was held last week on issues that were reportedly unresolved.
However, some residents are still happy with the gig.
One person told Talk Radio: “It’s great, absolutely great, I’m dying to hear it tonight.” Another added, “Wonderful … it’s a great idea. We live just below the road and can hear it from the front door.”
Third addition: “It’s okay, it’s a little life after Covid. You get a chance only once in your life, let’s live it.”
Olivia Rodrigo, foals and stereophonics will also perform over the next 12 days.
The gig gate will open at 7pm tonight and the show itself will start at 8pm.
