Jack O’Neill said he “couldn’t handle it” at his villa on Love Island after quitting the hit reality show.

Rugby, 23, announced a shocking exit from the reality series in an episode on Tuesday, telling fellow islanders that he needed to “return to himself” in an emotional scene.

After leaving, he told the sun: “Playing Love Island was the worst decision in my life. I was ready to break down.

“I was so mentally tired that I just wanted to go home and get myself right.

“It broke me, and I was already broken. I was screaming. I couldn’t deal with it.

“I was literally in a terrible mood. It was the worst I’ve ever felt in my life.”

His exit from the show came after he spent days regaining his partner Pagethorn after it was revealed that he had kissed a shy anchor while she was in Casa Amor.

He states: “I tortured myself and watched an episode of Casa Amor to see my actions. I was fed up with myself, I understand hatred. I feel pretty numb. ..

“I’m waiting for Page outside, but I’ve never seen the show again. I can’t.”

Before deciding to leave the show, the 23-year-old approached a physical discussion with the new bomb Adam Corrado, who wanted to pursue his partner Page.

Jack said:

“At home I could get out of the situation, but I had to deal with every situation there. At that moment I took off the mic and walked straight down the front door because I wanted to get out of the place. ..

“The producers came to me and they said,’Jack, are you okay?’ I don’t want to talk to you or anyone. I want to leave it to myself. “Too many.

“I was telling them,’This is more than a TV show for me.’ It was a real emotion and my headspace wasn’t right to appear on a TV show.

“There, I dealt with something I had never dealt with in my life.”

“I couldn’t deal with it,” he added, yelling to the ITV boss, “I’m ready to go home.”

Jack, who was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at the age of nine, talked about living in a villa in his condition.

He states:

“I know I was speaking wrong with Page. I tried to apologize, and she kept asking why I did it.

“ADHD isn’t just about being unable to concentrate. It’s also about feeling so much anxiety and being on many edges.”

Jack added that he has received extensive support from the ADHD community since he left the company.

“The number of grown-up men who sent me a message that I was their inspiration is overwhelming,” he said.

A love island spokesperson said: “Due to confidentiality and our own duty of care to the islanders, we cannot comment on personal medical records. Enter the villa. This is what we take very seriously.

“As we said at the time, Jack decided to leave and we respected that decision.

“The islanders welcome leaving if they choose to do so, and we never pressure anyone to stay in the villa.”

Love Island continues at 9pm with Virgin Media 2 and Virgin Media Player.
