In a tweet on Tuesday, al-Faisal celebrated FIFA’s countdown and wished neighbors good luck with a photo of the Saudi national football team celebrating its bid for the World Cup this March.

Al-Faisal said, “I sincerely hope that the Qatari brothers will organize an exceptional edition, the culmination of this great work that we are all proud of.

Since the 2017 Qatar diplomatic crisis, relations between the two countries have grown healthy.

Salwa’s borders were recently extended, resuming both economic and tourism ties between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Travelers from Saudi Arabia are expected to pass through the Salwa Crossing to witness the team’s sixth appearance at the FIFA World Cup.

Saudi Arabia will face Argentina, Mexico and Poland in Group C.

Morocco and Tunisia join Saudi Arabia on behalf of the Arab world.

Qatar is expected to welcome 1.5 million visitors for the inaugural Middle East World Cup, which is scheduled to kick off on November 20th.
