Doha: The Catali Businessmen Association (QBA) held a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, and his accompanying delegation, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Gegham Gharibjanian, Ambassador of Armenia in Qatar. The Prime Minister’s visit was aimed at discussing opportunities for cooperation and developing economic relations between the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by other members, including QBA’s first Deputy Hussein Alfaldan, Khalid Armannai, McBourg Calfan, Youssef Al Mahmood, and QBA Vice President Sarah Abdullah.
At the beginning of the meeting, he welcomed a delegation accompanied by Prime Minister Al Ferdan, discussed how to cooperate between the two countries, and confirmed the importance of the visit in working to strengthen economic and trade relations. He also noted the interest of Qatari businessmen in identifying potential areas of cooperation and investment opportunities offered in Armenia.
The Prime Minister also thanked QBA members for the meeting and expressed the importance of developing relations between the two countries in the meantime, with some major potential interests to the Armenian business environment and Qatar businessmen. I learned about various investment projects.
Pasignan also talked about Armenia’s economic sector, describing it as a resilient economy, and the World Bank predicted 3.5% economic growth in Armenia in 2022, according to the World Bank Group’s Global Economic Outlook report. Emphasized his optimism about what the numbers indicate. The report also predicts that Armenia’s economic growth will be 4.6% in 2023 and 4.9% in 2024.
The Prime Minister also talked about Armenia’s most important sectors and investment opportunities, and talked about the tourism and agriculture sector. He sees this as a great opportunity for cooperation between the two countries.
During the event, QBA members expressed their interest in developing new international markets and expressed their readiness to identify areas of cooperation in Armenia. They also confirmed their enthusiasm for supporting and developing bilateral relations in various areas.
