‘BELCO has made no attempt to amend public records,’ Bermuda regulator says [RA] “As a result, RA is currently considering all legal and regulatory options related to BELCO’s statement.”
This follows RA’s official statement earlier this month, stating, “In response to public outcry over ongoing soot emissions in the community, Bermuda regulators have warned BELCO of intentionally misleading the public.” BELCO replied: In part, “We had no intention of misleading the public and do not believe it did.”
In providing an update, a spokesperson said:
“As a result, RA is currently considering all legal and regulatory options related to BELCO’s statement, including enforcement action, civil litigation, and the release of relevant materials to support its position. including but not limited to.
“RA has considered its options and has reserved its rights in this matter and will have no further statement.[s] It must be done until the final position is taken. “
