The town of Wicklow is getting a lot of excitement for the revival of the taste of Wicklow this weekend.
The largest food festival on the East Coast will feature famous chefs from all over Ireland, including JP McMahon, Darina Allen, Genie Malta and Paul Kelly.
The new venue at the An Tairseach Organic Farm and Ecology Center will also host food and drink stalls for over 50 artisans.
Paul Smith coordinates various chefs and is delighted to see the Taste of Wicklow return to the county town.
“The first Wicklow taste happened in 2015, but due to Covid’s pandemic, this event couldn’t be held after 2019. Now we’re very successful and have a lot of activity with the whole family. We’re also hoping for more kids to attend this year, with all the winners of the Wicklow Natural-sponsored school contest. “
The VIP Taste of Wicklow banquet will be held on Friday. Here, the platform-style Tabero, the local restaurant Sorrel & Eve, and the An Tairseach Organic Farm and Ecology Center come together for a pop-up dining experience limited to 50 people.
Culinary demonstrations by celebrities and local chefs and live stages performed by musicians and DJ medleys will be held on weekends.
Special gatherings will also take place on Sundays from 2 pm to 4 pm in Barrow Green.
Paul added: “I wanted to hold a nice community event where people could get together, bring food and meet their neighbors. Some Ukrainians living here and people living in the Grand Hotel will attend. We also offered a free Taste of Wicklow ticket to everyone. “
Tickets for the Taste of Wicklow will continue to be available online at www.tasteofwicklow.ie. You can also visit the website to find a complete list of daily content.
