In memory of her husband, FJ Harquayle, Mrs Harquayle generously donated 12 acres of land and funds to build the FJ Harquayle Cultural Center, which includes both a theater and a cultural village.
In memory of her husband, Mrs Harquayle commissioned the CNCF, through its Chairman Martin Bold, to find a sculptor to create a bronze statue of him. Luckily, Martyn had a good friend from Jamaica, Valerie Bloomfield, who had recently completed a life-size bronze of Sir William Sherlock, the Prime Minister of the UWI at the time, and was able to get the commission.
