Ollie Robinson returned the best figure of his England career in Saturday’s Test at the Oval as South Africa were sent off for just 118 in the third.

Robinson took 5-49 in 14 overs, while veteran quick Stuart Broad returned figures 4-41 in 12.3 overs, with Thursday’s complete washout and Friday’s abandonment following the death of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II to close the match. Delays and finally started on the 3rd day. Five planned.

The 28-year-old Sussex seamer Robinson’s third five wickets in an innings hole of an 11-match Test career surpassed his previous best at level 5-65 against India at Headingley last year.

South Africa’s first innings ended with just 36.2 overs after losing a toss on Thursday when bad weather prevented them from starting on time.

Only two batters for the Proteas made over 20. Fast bowler Marco Jansen top-scored with his 30, and Kaya his Zondo recalled that in the First Test his innings he scored 23.

A 3-match series is a 1-on-1 level.
