Spaniard Alex Rins will be attending Honda-LCR next season after Suzuki announces his departure from MotoGP, his future outfit said Tuesday.
The 26-year-old Rinse was left without a team because Suzuki withdrew his contract with sports four years ago.
He will be wearing Lucio Cecchinello’s costume on behalf of Alex Marquez, who signed with Ducati-Gresini.
“I’m very happy to be part of the LCR Honda team. It’s hard to change teams and bikes, but I’m 100% dedicated and ready to put into practice everything I’ve learned in the MotoGP class,” Rins said. Said in a statement from LCR Honda.
“The trust of Lucio and Honda was very important to me in deciding to take this challenge at this factory. I would like to thank them for this opportunity.”
Rinse Suzuki’s teammate and 2020 world champion Joan Mir is associated with a transfer to Honda’s factory team.
Rinse is 9th overall in MotoGP, with 9 races remaining by the next event, the British Grand Prix on August 7.
