The resurrection of the Shelag Vintage Run on Sunday, June 26, will attract hundreds of spectators along the 15-mile route to see vintage car exhibits and tractor runs in person.
It is the first time in three years that a very popular event will be open to the public after being reduced by Covid’s regulations last year.
The 2022 event, a Carrickmacross-based Down Syndrome North East (DSCNE) fundraiser, is an essential resource for the entire family of Raus.
Peter Rooney of the Shelagh Vintage Club said:
Both tractor and vintage car driving depart from Naomh Malachi’s club room at 2 pm, with the tractor heading for Tracey’s Cross, Brid (Chrinn Church and Ballsmill), and then back to the club room. The car will follow another route to the outskirts of Iniskin and Castlblayney before returning through Cullaville.
Both return to the club room, where food and drink are prepared, and you can take pictures and see the vintage car up close.
Each year, the organizer selects different local charities that operate in the community. This year, they chose DSCNE.
The mission of the Down Syndrome Center North East is to enable Down Syndrome individuals to reach their full potential by providing treatment services, training, information and social events to Down Syndrome children and adolescents, their families and professional communities. To support and empower. Northeast of Ireland.
Charities offer occupational therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, school age and early intervention groups, and a variety of activity schedules for both DS children and their siblings.
We are accepting donations to DSNE’s activities on the day and collecting collections at Naomh Malachi’s during the event. It will surely be a wonderful day for your family.
