When Silent Is Gold is lucky for the third time with a success of over 1,200m on the grass on April 30, call this a fluke shot.
However, when the Australian-raised gelding continued three weeks later and won less than one minute and nine seconds on the same track and distance, the word “class” was seen on his big, wide chest.
Winning is one thing, but timing 1: 08.84 for the first win and 1: 08.87 for the second win is special.
Silent Is Gold has speed, charisma, attitude, and most importantly, a big engine to achieve the bigger.
With only four runs, the three-year-old world is his oyster.
His compact and balanced body over 550kg has many improvements.
The son of Star Turn and Confident will have the chance to show off his star quality tomorrow – over 1,200 meters on the grass in a $ 110,000 Group 3 Singapore three-year-old sprint.
Buddy Buddy Stable’s recently moved from Donna Logan to Stephen Gray, Bay Gelding is his stunning back-to-back double, clearly outperforming his ten rivals.
Easily portrayed at Gate 5, he needs to give Jockey Ronnie Stewart the first group success since his return to The Crunge three months ago. He served in Singapore for six years from 2006 to 2011.
Australians share the honor of winning three Singapore Gold Cups (all in El Dorado, trained by Hideyuki Takaoka) with their compatriots Tommy Farsing and Alan Trevena.
He was also associated with Jolie’s Shinju in Takaoka on all three legs of the Singapore 4-Year Challenge, including the Emirates Singapore Derby.
Like El Dorado and Jolie’s Shinju, Silent Is Gold seems to go very well with Stewart.
In a two-to-two partnership, the horse and rider are one.
They were like friends. They gelled.
When Stewart said “let’s go” at the top of the straight, Silent is Gold quickly took his steps. He gave a lot.
Both wins were top notch, but the second win in the more powerful beginner field was more dominant.
Stewart applied the whip on the first victory, but did not need to apply it on the second victory.
The horse ran alone. He kicked when Stewart said goodbye to his rivals. He made them look like they were standing still.
In the winning post, Silent Is Gold was 23/4 longer than the Golden Monkey (the biggest challenger tomorrow) trained by Tim Fitz Simmons.
The Golden Monkey also thrived and won his trial impressively last week. But he will have to be on top of his game to defeat his nemesis.
SilentIsGold was also tried very well.
He finished second only to King Arthur, but he would have won if Stewart had released the brakes.
So, in terms of timing, it’s hard to see anyone passing through Silent is Gold tomorrow.
With the exception of the Northern Hemisphere-raised Legacy reign, which carries 54.5 kg, this is even more so with a level weight of 57 kg.
