Singapore: On Sunday (June 12) Australia and Singapore discussed reaffirming their “close and long-term” bilateral defense relationship and strengthening cooperation under a comprehensive strategic partnership, Singapore. The Ministry of Defense (MINDEF) said in a statement.
This happened when Australian Defense Minister Richard Marls visited Singapore to attend the 19th Shangri-La Dialogue. The High Level Security Summit, hosted by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, begins on Friday and ends on Sunday.
Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mars, visited Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in Istana on Friday and met with Singapore’s Defense Minister Neng Heng on Sunday.
“SAF (Singapore Armed Forces) and the Australian Defense Force share a long history of military cooperation and are grateful for Australia’s support for SAF training in Australia,” Lee said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
On Sunday, Mars and Dr. N announced that they would continue to focus on collaborative training areas and advanced training facilities in Queensland, Australia.
