Doha: The Laws of the Game group on Monday said five alternatives would be permanently introduced in all top games and that automatic offside detectors would be close to being introduced in this year’s World Cup.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the alternative change would follow “strong support from the entire football community.”

He said after the FIFA Board of Directors’ annual meeting, experts would decide whether to use semi-automatic offside detection for the World Cup starting November 21st.
