Schooling publicly apologized on his Instagram story on Tuesday, shortly after MINDEF and SportSG released their statements.
“After going through a very tough time in my life, I succumbed to a moment of weakness. I showed bad judgment and I’m sorry,” he said.
“I made a mistake. I am responsible for what I did. I will make amends and correct what was wrong. I will never let you down again.”
According to MINDEF, schooling will be in a supervised urinalysis regime for six months.
“All SAF personnel who have tested positive during this administration will be prosecuted and sentenced accordingly,” it added.
According to the Department of Defense, schooling is not subject to leave or interruptions for training or competition while serving in NS.
