Swift promised screaming fans that more information would be released at midnight.
The video for All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) features Stranger Things star Sadie Sink and Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien, and fans believe the song is Swift’s farewell to the actor. It went viral earlier this year after speculating that it was based on. Jake Gyllenhaal.
In a speech for best feature length video, Swift thanked Sink and O’Brien, adding that the production team worked “with heart” on the video.
The show kicked off with a surprise performance from music superstar Fergie, singing her hits “Glamorous” and “First Class” with Jack Harlow.
The former Black Eyed Peas singer wore a shiny silver top that read “First Class” in red letters as other music legends, including Swift, watched from the audience.
Moments later, Harlow, alongside Lil Nas X, won the night’s first Best Collaboration award for their track Industry Baby.
He has also worked with hip-hop stars Nicki Minaj and LL Cool J.
Video Vanguard Award winner Minaj delivered an explosive medley on arrival.
The US rapper said he ‘had never written a speech in his life’ but walked off stage and pulled out his phone to read a note when he received an award from members of his fan club Barbz .
The Red Hot Chili Peppers were then presented with Global Icon by US comedy stoner duo Cheech and Chong.
The band’s bassist, Flea, dedicated the band’s award to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
“There’s another music legend and his name is Taylor Hawkins…I miss him every day,” he told the audience.

The band also won the best rock award, and Kiedis and Flea said “thanks” to members of their entourage.
Then there was the trippy “Metaverse” rendition of rap legends Eminem and Snoop Dogg’s collaborative track From The D 2 The LBC.
Then, shortly after winning Best Artist, Bad Bunny put on a special performance, streamed live from New York City’s 54,000-capacity Yankee Stadium.
The VMA show was sprinkled with the odd appearance of actor Johnny Depp on screen as the ceremony’s famous Moonman.
Hovering above the stage, he was heard saying, “I needed work,” as the ceremony began, later adding that he was available for “birthdays…weddings…whatever.”
