Ministry of Economy and Labor through the Department of Economic Development [EDD]announced that it will be holding its annual Tech Education Day in person on October 31st.

A government spokesperson said, “Co-organized by Bermuda’s fintech industry leaders Circle and Nimble, the event is organized in partnership with EDD and the Bermuda Business Development Authority. Presentations and discussions by Bermudians working in the IT industry. It will cover topics such as Fintech, Web 3.0, NFTs, Coding and Robotics.

“Following the morning’s presentations and panel discussions, the afternoon will focus on the Reverse Pitch Competition, where teams from competing schools pitch their technical solutions to an audience and panel of judges. The competition will conclude with a reception celebrating Bermuda and Bermuda-based innovators.”

“In line with Bermuda’s Youth Employment Strategy, our goal is to develop a knowledgeable workforce that will propel Bermuda’s economy forward, and it all starts with investing in Bermuda students,” said Jason Hayward Economics. the labor minister said. “Our annual Tech Education Day is an important part of that effort.”

“The event aims to build a sustainable, informed and skilled workforce by educating Bermuda youth about technology and fintech. We look forward to returning Tech Education Day to an in-person event, where students can enjoy a day of more interactive and engaging events. It gives me a better understanding of both tech and a sustainable and viable career path.”
