Tesla’s Model Y rear-wheel drive variant was launched here.
Prices for the electric midsize SUV start at €59,490 and deliveries will be available from February.
Tesla says the rear-wheel drive powertrain, its aerodynamics and battery technology will allow it to travel up to 455km on a single charge.
This is the claimed figure – I think 400km is close to my daily goal.
This is the most affordable car in the brand’s Y series.
Standard specs include autopilot, premium interior, heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel and 13-speaker audio system.
Like the AWD and Performance models, the front trunk and split-folding second-row seats are adopted to secure a maximum luggage space of 2,158L.
It has a maximum charging rate of 170kW and access to Tesla’s Supercharger network of over 9,000 chargers in Europe.
Adding a third-party network will allow owners to travel “seamlessly” across Europe, Tesla said.
