The public prosecutor’s office has issued a statement that it will fight criminal offenses in accordance with the law during the pandemic prevention period.

The Secretariat said that several incidents suspected of violating epidemic precautions have recently occurred at quarantine hotels, strongly suggesting that criminal offenses are likely to be committed.

Authorities cite the case of a woman who tried to deliver cannabis while her husband was undergoing medical observations at a hotel.

Another situation mentioned by the public prosecutor’s office is about eight individuals who opened the doors of a hotel room smoking, talking, or handing things to individuals in other rooms.

The public prosecutor’s office has stated that it will investigate all violations of epidemic prevention measures that occurred during this period.

If they find sufficient evidence of a deliberate violation of the rules or other types of criminal practice, the office promises to prosecute in accordance with the law.
