Helsinki — The Venetian Festival is celebrated on beaches across the country, including Helsinki, on Saturdays. This celebration marks the end of the boating and cottage season.
This is the first time in Helsinki that neighborhood associations have joined forces to hold an event in the city.
At least the following districts participate in the program:
Organizers encourage participants to bring food and enjoy the fresh sea air.
For example, in Katajanokka, local organizations bring tables covered with white tablecloths to the Matrusimpisto (park), where people can enjoy their meals.
Police have granted permission to film fireworks for event organizers in Vuosaari and Rauttasaari.
The event officially takes place in the evening between 18:00 and 22:00.
