Singapore: Three people were taken to hospital after a tree fell on the grounds of the Ulu Pandan Community Club on Saturday (20 August).
In response to CNA inquiries, the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said two people were found trapped under a tree and another injured nearby.
They were taken to hospital “conscious and stable”.
The SCDF said it was alerted to the incident at 170 Ghim Moh Road near 6pm.
Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) firefighters and rescue workers had to descend steep slopes and through vegetation to reach the scene of the accident.
The SCDF said, “We found two people trapped under a large fallen tree, and found a third injured near the fallen tree.” added that it had started
A cutting device was used in the operation to reach the trapped two.
Emergency medical specialists were also on site, closely monitoring vital signs.
The SCDF also deployed K9 search dogs to ensure there were no other trapped victims in the area.
The Ulu Pandan Community Club said it is currently working to clarify the facts of the incident.
In 2017, a woman died after being crushed by a fallen tree at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Another woman died last year after falling into a tree in Marsiling Park.
