The conductor died shortly after a confrontation with two young men who were traveling without paying the fare.

According to a police spokesman, two young men, ages 15 and 16, quarreled with the conductor when he confirmed the ticket and asked two colleagues for backup, after which the incident was “pushed”. I fell into it.

Telegraaf reported that the conductor was ill at the platform of Hilversum station after getting the young man off the train on Sunday night. Paramedics were unable to resuscitate him on the scene.

Police said it was unclear if his death was the result of an incident on the train and asked witnesses to step forward.

One of the young men was detained by police at the station and the other was arrested at home late in the evening.

A spokesman for the train driver NS said the conductor was a 62-year-old man from Hengelo, Overijssel. “We are deeply resentful and saddened by the death of our colleague,” said a spokesman. “The situation and his medical situation must be thoroughly investigated.”
