Transavia abolished 240 flights in July and August following Schiphol Airport’s decision to impose a cap on passenger numbers during the peak holiday season.
The airline said it will affect 13,000 customers, but 70% will be offered alternative flights at about the same time. The rest must request a refund or rebooking after August 28, when the limit ends.
All affected flights will depart between July 7th and August 14th. Transavia will decide next month if more cancellations will be required in the last two weeks of August.
Skipole announced last week that due to a shortage of security guards and baggage handlers, it is necessary to reduce the average number of passengers per day by 13,500.
July 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, and 23 were identified as “peak days” when the number of cancellations is expected to increase further.
