The University of Macau is ranked 25th in the world for Hospitality & Tourism Management in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).

ARWU is one of the most influential global university rankings, copyrighted by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, and this year over 2500 institutions were vetted, charting the world’s 1000 best universities.

Meanwhile, UM’s overall ranking was 401st last year, up from 601st in 2020, according to ARWU results released on Monday.

Macau University of Science and Technology ranks 601st in 2021, down from 501st the previous year.

ARWU uses 6 metrics to rank the world’s universities. This includes the number of Nobel Prize- and Fields Medal-winning alumni and staff, the number of highly cited researchers selected by Clarivate, the number of papers published in the journals of Nature and Science, and the number of papers published in Science Citation. Includes a number of papers. Web of Science’s Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index, and college per capita performance.
