Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said the visa-on-arrival policy has boosted the recovery of Indonesia’s tourism industry and encouraged more foreign tourists to visit Indonesia, especially the resort islands of Bali.
“The number of foreign tourists in July is the highest since the COVID-19 pandemic,” the minister said.
The Southeast Asian country recorded 476,970 foreign visitors arriving in July, according to the Indonesian Bureau of Statistics (BPS).
From January to July, 1.22 million international tourists visited Indonesia.
