Anthonia Edwards has been named this year’s winner of ITV’s The Voice UK.
A qualified nurse from Blackheath, London, the 25-year-old was mentored by Sir Tom Jones to win the coveted title on Saturday’s episode of the ITV Talent Contest.
She saw off competing with Olly Murs-coached David Adeogan in the finals to win a recording contract with EMI.
Edwards said:
“I am a Registered Nurse and now I am able to explore this side of myself. It is truly amazing and I am so grateful for this opportunity.
She sang Billie Eilish’s When The Party’s Over, followed by a duet of James Brown’s It’s a Man’s Man’s World with Sir Tom.
For her final track, Edwards chose to sing Justin Bieber’s “Anybody”, which was released as the debut winner’s single.

“I loved working on the arrangement and making it feel like my own version of the song. looking forward to it.”
Welsh singer Sir Thom added that he was “very proud” of his third coaching win on the singing show.
“Her voice and talent transcend the highly competitive field and speak for themselves, so it’s no surprise that she’s the winner of Series 11.
“When I first heard her voice in the blinds, I knew there was something really special about her. It was nothing.
“I am excited for her future as she deserves a great deal of respect for both her competence and her work ethic. increase.”
At the blind auditions, Edwards chose Sir Tom as his coach after impressing the judges with Katy Perry’s unconditional emotional performance and securing the elusive four chair turn.
In the callback, she wowed with her rendition of U2’s Pride (In The Name Of Love), and her semi-final performance of Kesha’s Praying also hit the judges.
The final saw four coaches take to the stage for a performance of Emery Sande’s Shine and an unexpected performance from The Voice UK 2021 winner Craig Eddy, who sang his latest single ‘The Outside’ .
Edwards was chosen as the winner, with the show’s studio audience voting for her victory.
