Singapore-Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is on vacation This week, Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will act as acting prime minister, the Prime Minister’s Office announced on Sunday (June 12).

Prime Minister Lee will be closed from Monday to Sunday.

Mr Wong, who is also the Minister of Finance, was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister as part of the Cabinet change announced last Monday.

It was also announced that he would act as acting prime minister in the absence of Prime Minister Lee.

Wong was elected the fourth-generation leader of the People’s Action Party in April, paving the way for Singapore’s next prime minister.
